Hi

I am running a HP Ipaq h2210 with a bluetootth tomtom receiver and Tomtom 5 software. I have found the the only problem is the fact that I dont use it very often and a couple of time the receiver's battery has gone dead when I go to use it it doesnt work.

I have been looking at buying an Acer N35 or Navman PIN 570 both of which have built in receivers, are either of these any good? If so will they both run TT5 with no problem as I my version of TT5 on disc.

How much should I be looking at paying for either of these? as I said I dont need software so would that make either cheeper? If I decide to sell what should I be looking to get for the Ipaq and stuff?

Thanks Rob

I had an Acer N35 with TomTom 5 on and it worked very well. The only problem I had with it was because of the slow processor sometime's it was little slow to respond. Not a problem in genaral. If your on a budget an Acer N35 is good value for money. I got mine from Comet for £199 about a year ago. I would suggest you get a PDA with at least a 300MHz Processor. Here's a list for all the compatable PDA's http://www.tomtom.com/products/features.php?ID=109&Language=1

All I know is I want a PDA with an intergrated receiver, would it be as fast as the Ipaq h2210 or 3660 which I've had both?

The Acer/Pin or the old Mio should be OK for use with Tom Tom if you do not intend to run GPS and other software at the same time. In fact even the fastest PDA will not be able to run Tom Tom well together with other software.

If you are looking for a new PDA with integrated GPS, why Acer/Pin570?

There are many newer breed of GPS/PDA with Sirf3 chips and WM5 to be had probably for less than £200 (without software).

If you are on a tight budget and can get Acer/Pin570 or even the old Mio168 for considerably less than newer ones, they can give you satisfactory results.

All I would be doing is using the GPS and not much else, not sure which model I want but anything like the MIO or Acer would be great.

I was after paying less than £100 for it and £50 would be better, just need the unit and charger but the ones I've looked at on Ebay all seam to have software installed on them.

Just thought someone on here would have one laying around Wink

If you only want the GPS part then why not consider an All-In-One device, You may struggle to get one for under £100 but I've seen a few bargains on Ebay so you never know. They generally perform better than most PDA's for Navigation as they are generally only used for one purpose.

If you mean Tomtom or navman's I've never seen them anywhere near the price I want, unless someone on here has one to sell me cheap Wink

Hi mate, thanks for that. Have seen them and the screen are very small, maybe I'm being too picky. The Ipaq I own has a big screen and the only problem is having to risk the receiver turning on in the bag and running down the battery (happened other night, lucky new where I was going).

Maybe I wont get one for such a good deal (very risky on Ebay sometimes). I do also like my Tomtom 5 and seing as I've paid for it would like to use it.

Cheers for the help though
