Can't activate map when undocked TT510

Hi,
I have just recieved a new replacement TT510 and it works fine through the PC but once undocked its goes back to asking for what language etc?? Also it fails to accept the product/activation code etc ( although its already activated via PC)
I spoke to Tom Tom support and they have told me to run the flash file, which I have, but no joy, however i just ran it on my PC not via TThome??
and it didn't seem to communicate with the 510.

Any help please would be great as I'm about to throw it out of the window!!

If your 510 is turned on & connected to your PC or the card is in a card reader just run the program. It's an .exe so will auto run once you hit the button.
