I've just bought an Orange SPV M1000 which I hope will replace my TomTom 700.

It comes with very little documentation and the only disc seems to contain Microsoft Outlook & Activesync.

Before I dive in and start playing/installing what happens if I wreck the installed software???

I've done a full back up in Activesync, will this be enough to restore the whole device back to a working condition when it all goes tits up????

Welcome to the forum, if the PDA phone goes off the rails in a big way you simply hard reset the device, this re-loads the basic operating system whilst deleting any applications/ files stored in memory, it can be required from time to time (not too often though) - as a fail safe I use Sprite back-up to ensure I can recover the device to an "As working" condition in mins.
Don't be too worried about this happening, I have only performed a Hard Reset four times in the last 16 months, the normal soft reset (stylus in the reset hole) usually will sufice, whithout data loss - Mike

Cheers. I've already needed a soft reset but was worried in case I end up with a blank device after a hard reset.
