Have you plugged the USB direct in to a computer USB port or via a hub? - if its via a hub this could be the issue, try a direct connection to the PC - Mike |

Plug the Go-910 in to the PC (either one) and switch it on, does it ask to connect to the PC on the display if so select yes.
Go to file explorer and see if the device is listed as a seperate drive it should be.
Mine lists as TomTom (I although the drive letter will differ from machine to machine.
If the 910 is still not connecting try reseting it, use a pin in the reset hole, but PLEASE make sure you know where the reset switch is before proding it with a pin! - it is underneath adjacent to the power connector - check the guide first. Then try again with the unit and the PC - Mike |

thanx for all the replies have had a reply from tomtom support and now got it working after a reset posted whole reply below if any one has this problem:-)
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
If the computer does not recognize the device, try the following:
• Make sure the device is fully charged before connecting it to the computer or ideally connect also the power cable to the device / home dock.
• Reset the device using a paper clip. When resetting, keep the reset button pushed in for at least 10 seconds, but DO NOT turn the device back on until it is connected to the computer.
• Try different USB ports (preferably ones which are on the back of the computer)
• Make sure the user has got 'Administrator' rights on the PC. Otherwise he may not be allowed to connect new hardware (especially the case when using office computers)
• *Note: GO510/710/910 are only compatible with computers which can also run TomTom HOME (not Win 98/98SE)
• If the device is NOT listed as a 'Removable drive' under 'My Computer', try the following:
o Go to Start and right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'
o Select the 'Hardware' tab
o Select device manager and Expand 'Disk drives'
o If the TomTom device is shown there with a red cross (see above), right-click on it and select 'Enable'
o Check under 'My Computer' if the device does now show up as a 'Removable drive'
• If it still does not show up as a removable drive send the registry cleaner attached to this FAQ.
o When running this program, a window will open for only 1 second, removing the USB registry entries of the TomTom device from the computer.
o Next time the device is being connected, the computer should display the message 'New Hardware found'
Should these not work, then please contact us by using the telephone number given below:
0845 161 0009
You can reach us on this number Monday - Friday between 08.00 and 20.00 UK time.
We hope to have answered your question
Should you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know.
Kind regards, |

Make sure the 910 is connected properly to the home dock. Make sure you get the green light. |

Actually I had the same problem with my new GO 510. Took it back to Halfords and they gave me a new home dock which worked.
But see new thread regarding another problem. |

It took me a few days for TomTom Support to email me back. I suggest to call them if you want faster answers. They are sending me a new Home Dock because the unit wouldn't hold to the home dock correctly. |
