I would like to create a OV2 file for use with TT5 navigator.
I have put the data into Excel columns and merged certain cells to give Lat, Long and Name like below (they are in separate columns but this post doesn't show them as such):
39.022 -122.444 ABBOTT MINE 86or30
38.365 -115.867 ABEL SPRING 115or46
38.654 -122.484 AETNA SPRINGS 91or33
34.538 -119.56 AGUA CALIENTE SPRING 133or56
32.947 -116.305 AGUA CALIENTE SPRINGS 101or38
I have saved this as a .CSV file and then tried to open it in POIedit. I get told that "ABBOTT MINE 86OR30" is not a valid floating point value.
I then saved the sheet as an XML sheet and tried importing.
The names went into POIedit fine. The latitude, however, got put into the longitude column and all the data for my longitudes was replaced with -90.000 as seen below:
Description Latitude Longitude
ABBOTT MINE 86or30 -90.000 39.022
ABEL SPRING 115or46 -90.000 38.365
AETNA SPRINGS 91or33 -90.000 38.654
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong and how I need to format my sheet in order to accept it?
I can't get POIedit to accept a chunk of copy&paste data or I'd do it that way without having to create a CSV to start with.

You have your Latitiudes and Longitudes in the wrong order.
With your data, try this
-122.444,39.022, ABBOTT MINE 86or30
-115.867,38.365, ABEL SPRING 115or46
-122.484,38.654, AETNA SPRINGS 91or33
-119.56,34.538, AGUA CALIENTE SPRING 133or56
-116.305,32.947, AGUA CALIENTE SPRINGS 101or38
