Downloaded and installed July database yesterday 7/8 went to work last night and 2 gatso cameras were missing but the cameras were still there
Gatso463@50
Gatso466@50
Both on the A2 around Welling/Falconwood
Is this just an error or has somebody said that they have been removed and somebody else confirmed it, in which case who are they(law enforcement perhaps!!!)

Confused

and report it as new cameras, if you are the first to report it, you will get free lifetime membership.

It is highly unlikely that a free lifetime membership will be given for the reinstatement of an erroneously removed camera!

Hi BGF, Do you get lifetime membership if you report a camera thats been removed? If you do, someone has got free membership on false pretenses, their membership should be cancelled, and if a camera has been removed for some reason, that is still there, I think the person reporting it should get free membership, anyway, free membership or not it should be reported to keep the database up to date.

You do not. Lifetime membership is only awarded to the first report of a new fixed camera site.

Hmmm, has the policy changed?

Q. How can I get Free Lifetime Membership?

A. Your active paid subscription will be extended free for life if you report just one previously unreported, deleted or altered static speed camera position. (Must consequently be verified by PocketGPSWorld.com.) We monitor all submissions very carefully and you will be notified if we use your submission. If you are successful we will let you know (there is no need to send us an email to check) and automatically extend your current membership. You must be a current paid member and your account must be active to benefit from this offer.

Darren

having read that it really worries me. So there is an incentive to report a deleted camera even if it isn't? Get a couple of mates to "verify" and away you go. Does not sound to me like that will lead to a more accurate database or am I being particularly cynical today?

There is far more to our verification system than that. If the OP can supply me with the Camera ID's I'll look up the history and see why they have been removed (if indeed the have been!).

I was down that road tonight and I can confirm that the Gatsos formerly known as 463 and 466 are definately still there. Indeed, the westbound one is difficult to spot because it's partially obscured by a sign. This is NOT a good camera to have missing from the database. Confused

Uh, I hope I don't sound too critical there - I didn't mean to. You guys are doing a fantastic job. Smile

No offence taken, as far as were concerned ANY missing camera is one too many. I'll look into this ASAP.
