Garmin nuvi 310 viewing speed cameras and poi's

hi, iv downloaded the speed camera data base and transfered it over to the sat nav. but the cameras are only in custom poi's and i cant get em to show up on the main map screen. im having the same trouble with normal poi's such as shops etc, plus theres no poi warner to tell me ther coming up, please help!
