Disappointed is hardly the right word - deeply regrettable seems more appropriate to how I feel having sold my wonderful Go500 and replaced it with the 510.

The new mounting system is appalling - it's impossible to mount/dismount the GO from the base easily, and there is a real problem with intermittent connection if the GO is resting on the dash. Installing the mount on the windscreen is fiddly to downright bloody awkward and now the new software upgrade means that it no longer switches on and off with the ignition - a real pain ita. In 12 months, I had to reset my 500 just once - so far in under a month the 510 has locked up 11 times. The "bigger" screeen is actually smaller - ok so you get to see more green brown and blue either side of the road.... duh. Oh yeah - and the 'faster' startup only happens if you make use of the weekly GPS location updates so that the thing knows what sattelites to look for !

I miss my 500 ......... my precious .........

I did the same with 700/910 and couldn't agree more, with knobs on. I exchanged it twice and still had even more complaints about it than you have mentioned, but presumably you'll get to those shortly - e.g. have you seen the invisible red speeding warnings yet (together with the useless speed limits such as 60mph for M5 south all the way from Jct 22 to Jct 30)?
In my case, I managed to get a refund, gift vouchers only, and bought another 700 for considerably less and was left with £100 or so in Halfords gift vouchers. Being back with the 700 has eased the pain of my sickness at losing so much money. It's not even as if I've given up on more up to date maps!!
