I've got a nuvi 310D and was wondering if someone could explain/help me regarding coordinates.
When we submit speed camera locations etc we use longitude & latitude
However i can't seem to find this on my nuvi.
Currently my coordinates show something like this.
N 52o37.202' W001o39.375
How do i go about converting these to longitude & latitude |

Yes, but not in the correct format. You can configure this option on your Nuvi or in Mapsource.
All of these locations are the same, just represented in different formats, you want the last format dd.ddddd.
N52 37' 20.2" W1 39' 37.5" (degrees, minutes, seconds)
N52 37.337' W1 39.625' (degrees, minutes)
N52.62228 W1.66042 (degrees) _________________ Gone fishing! |

Is it possible to enter co-ordinates on a Nuvi in other mapping formats other than Lat -Lon (degrees/minutes/seconds) on the WGS84 Map Datum format? This appears to be the only current, on screen option for entering co-ordinates.
I'm particularly interested in the ability to utilize a 'User Grid' format on the Nuvi, which is an option on say a Garmin Quest or other Garmin handheld unit (Etrex range etc). |
