Right then, just to offset some of the quibly posts (some are mine) here I thought I would post some of my positive thoughts so far on the c710.

The mio works a treat at what it was designed to do - get you from A to B. The navigation software is spot on. The speed with which it (re)calculates is impressive, even across borders. I took it to Germany at the weekend and it got us to all the places we wanted no problems. The directions where accurate timely and seemed logical. The TMC worked as well.

It is a neat, integrated design compared to many of the others on the market which are far bulkier. TT you might as well have you laptop on dashboard, others don't have intergrated TMC, or are just plain bulkier.

The range of functionality is great. Whilst the interface takes smoe time to learn (and could be improved) it very quickly becomes easy to navigate.

Some things i have learned from this forum that have enhanced the mio.

1 English voice. Importing Phillipa and locking the system to her dulcet tones.

2 TMC. Contrary to what the mio-tech website says, it does work in the UK. Learning where the screen are since that isn't described in the manuals. Plugging the antenna in before switching on and making sure the unit is charging (laptop, cigarette lighter or mains) all seem to improve reception. It has re-routed me several times (including in Germany).

3 Fastflyover. It works using the solution posted on this forum. Not entirely sure how useful it is but anyway nice ot have it work.

4 "Easy" parameter. Having a fourth option that tries to keep to main roads as much as possible is great and I don't understand why Mio decided not to enable it.

5 Ability to import speed cameras other than Mio's. It has to be said that Mio's synched speed (safety) camer database is somewhat lacking. Finding a way of loading third party ones (as cameras not POIs) is a real boon, respect to rondun.

All-in-all I am well chuffed as they say.

Hark! Hark! & accord Me Me Me

Pal, would it be asking too much if you can tell all of us "how to achieve" # 4 & 5 ?
I have gone through some threads, but there were many hits 'n' misses to achieve the above(including dark screens of death)
since it looks you have smoothened them all out, how about writing a few lines "how to " for the benefits of the likes of us Wink

Thanks in advance.
