Help with alert tones

Hi,

I have a mio 168 running tomtom version 5.210.

I have downloaded the speed camera database and all works succesfully. However, i downloaded the "voice alerts" and cannot get it to work. I followed the instruction on the web site and downloaded file 5430 (for my version PPC 5.210(5430))

I saved this to my hard drive. I placed my SD card in the reader and found the DATA.CHK file in the tomtom folder. I deleted this and replaced it with the 5430 file. Once there i re-named it data.chk and exited the system.

I placed the sd card back into the mio and performed a soft reset. When i open up the tomtom programme and try to enable the voices, it is still the bell and beeps, cuckoos etc. I have searched all the other folders and cannot find another data.chk file.

What am i doing wrong ???

The file you need to replace with the new data.chk resides in

My Device/ Program Files/ Navigator

You can use the card as the transfer medium to get the file onto the 168 then use file explorer on the PDA to move the file to the correct location, soft reset then configure your warnings - Mike

Cheers for the rapid reply, i can now set it to work and test later on today.
