Hi Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Via checkpoint, I have installed the following directly into Great_Britain_Plus-Map on my storage card:

pocketgps_uk_gatso
pocketgps_uk_mobile
pocketgps_uk_redlight
pocketgps_uk_specs
pocketgps_uk_temp

I am using a T-Mobile MDA and TomTom Navigator 5.

My problems is that the maps are now running a bit slow and kinda jerky, bit like my driving! 8O

I have reformatted the phone today (so to speak) it's running like new with plenty of memory. The phone operates windows Mobile 2003 second edition. Maps are stored on a 1gig scan disk SD card.

These are the only Poi's I am actively running BTW.

Can any one suggest how i can make my TomTom 5 run nice and smooth once more please?

Any takers Confused Confused Confused

cheers Wink

Go into change settings and click hide all POIs. If you ahev the POIs showing all the time it uses a lot of memory and makes TT5 run very slowly. Then if you have not already done so go into manage POIs and use the warn when near instead. That uses a lot less memory

The two are not dependent on one another. You will then still get audible warnings and the cameras will only show on the map when you are close to them (depends upon the distance you set).

Hi peter Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Your advice has brought TT5 up to acceptable levels, thank you for that. :D :D :D :D :D

Do you think it unwise of me to now delete out the existing poi's and replace with:

pocketgps_uk_gatso_20
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba
pocketgps_uk_redlight
pocketgps_uk_specs_20
pocketgps_uk_specs_30
pocketgps_uk_specs_40
pocketgps_uk_specs_50
pocketgps_uk_specs_60
pocketgps_uk_specs_70
pocketgps_uk_specs_tba
pocketgps_uk_temp

which would be my preference. Confused Confused Confused

Or should I just leave things alone as i am now a happy bunny ! ! ! Wink

Change it for the speed zoned set-up as it gives you much more information, while you are at it have a look at setting up the spoken POI alerts so the PDA can inform you of the camera type and applicable speed have a read HERE.
Or if you find you want more alerts (tomtom as supplied will give you 15 different sounds) you could have a look at THIS it is well worth the effort, as allways with any device back it up BEFORE you do anything - Mike
