My Garmin Etrex Vista keeps searching for, but will not aquire any satellites, and the date on it is reading 24th October. I took the batteries out of it about 3 weeks ago as I wasn't using it for a while, but believed this would be ok.
The unit is only a few months old, & not been mistreated!
Any thoughts please?? |

How long are you giving for it to aquire a lock? As it's been powered off for so long it should be allowed up to 30mins to update it's almanac and lock on to satellites. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I gave it more than 30 mins but no sign of satellites, not even grey bars!
Phoned Garmin today & am taking to them next week.
Thanks for the reply. |

If you're not getting an gray bars after 30 mins, then I would say there's a problem with the antenna. Best thing is to take it back to Garmin for fixing. |
