C710 - TMC Aerial AND Headphones?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have the TMC aerial connected and still use the headphones socket? I would like to have TMC on when in the car and also link the C710 to my car stereo using a lead from the headphone socket.

Any help would be appreciated.

When you plug in the earphones provided in the box, the phones and their wires act as the aerial - just like the phones on pocket FM radios.
If you use a different lead as you described, it will be much less efficient because the far end of that cable will be earthed by the stereo. There is a way to get round this which is to put an RF choke in series with the outer lead at the C710 end, and connect a length of wire for an aerial onto the C710 end of the choke. But you will need some experience of wiring to do this - I don't know of such a thing being available commercially.
