Please help me with something: Ozi CE doesn't show my correct position, all tracklog file saved to file is "pushed" on left Smile Desktop PC show correct positions using same tracklog file imported from pocketpc. So, PC and tracklog created by pocketpc is OK, but pocketpc doesn't show correct position. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Assuming the offset is consistent and no more than a couple of 100 metres off, then this sounds like a datum error, either in how the map is calibrated or in how the application is configured.
Given that it only occurs on the Pocket PC, and assuming that you're using the same map on the Pocket PC and the PC, and that any other apps on the Pocket PC seem okay, then the first place I'd look would be this setting on the OziExplorerCE menu: File - Configuration - NMEA (GPS) - GPS NMEA Output Datum:
Ozi Help wrote:
GPS NMEA Output Datum - The datum your GPS uses to Output the position in the NMEA data. Garmins always output in the datum the GPS is set to, Some Magellans (315/320) also output in the datum the GPS is set to, most other GPS output in WGS 84, you need to find out how your particular GPS does this. If you see you position on the map is not exactly in the correct place then this setting may be the cause.

Failing that, look through Ozi Help where you'll find lots of info on datums and lots of other things to try.

Thanks Barry I readed help before posting the question here, I tried all menues/config... stuff but the result is always the same. My bluetooth GPS has WGS84 output datum and the pocketpc is set like that. Only, I don't understaind "sentence" options, although I try all of them... always incorrect position, and the same map on pc and pocketpc. Maybe I stuffed something up in exporting map from pc to pocketpc (img2ozi....).

Thanx!

Hi there
Sentence selection will either give you a position or not, depending on which ones your GPS outputs. It won't change what position you're given. Put NMEA FAQ (two words) into Google then take your pick of those listed to find out more about NMEA sentences than you probably want.
You might like to ask your original question in the OziUsersL group on Yahoo if you're still stuck:

Hi there,
I am new to this group. I have the same problem.
For example, I opened the same map in both programs and
selected the same display datum (WGS84). Then I put mouse
pointer or tap on a known meridian. The longitude value displayed
on CE version is not the same as the one on PC. I have the difference
of about 20 seconds.

The datum of the map is Auto shift. When I select display datum
to be the same as in loaded map, displayed values are identical,
but the same tracklog is offset to the west on the mobile device
and is placed correctly on the PC. There is WGS84 datum in the
tracklog when opened in Notepad.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.
