Ipaq/tomtom freeze

Hi
I have an Ipaq 6515 with TT Nav 5.21 on it, most of the time it works fine then all of a sudden the nav just freezes and i have tried soft reset then had to do hard reset which solved it...but now it has done it again. Any ideas where i am going wrong? Also now and again it says the back up battery needs replacing then when i look it is 100%.
Any help or advice would be great as i am going to France on Friday and need to know i can trust it to work. Thanks

- move TTN to storage card.
- remove any programs that you do not need
-clean up the \windows\startup folder and remove shortcuts that you don't need
