Hi,
I have just purchased (very cheaply) a refurbished iCN 510. It's all working fine with the GB maps on the supplied MMC card. I've installed SmartST desktop. When I try to connect to the iCN, I repeatedly get a message box that says 'please wait while the SmartST desktop is synchronised with your iCN'. It seems to connect ok - I can retrieve information from the device and see which maps are installed and so on.
I have activesync 4 installed as I also own an O2 exec, which is a windows mobile 5 device. I am wondering if this is causing the problem.
Has anyone else come across this problem? Is it fixable?

Cheers,

John

Thanks!
It pops up every 5 seconds or so. It takes focus away from the smartST desktop application, so it makes it very hard to use!
It's as if activesync 4 continuously polls the connection...

I'm not at my "home" computer so I can't be definite about version numbers. What I do remember, is that I found on the Microsoft web site an up date to the version of ActiveSync that came from Navman with my ICN520. I downloaded and installed the newer version and then discovered that I could not connect my Navman at all. So, I deleted the upgrade, re-installed the earlier, Navmen version and all was OK.

If your PDA will work with the earlier version of ActiveSync, I suggest installing the Navman version.

This problem is no longer occuring. I have to make sure that Activesync has made a connection, before I start smartdesktop. Then all is well. Thanks to those who replied...
