Hi Anybody know of a fix for the greyed out Sat recieved display on 5.1 update. The original v5 software gave me no such problem. Before I revert to v5 can anybody help?
The reverse has happened on installing v5.1 on my Medion md 40600.Tomtom v5 worked ok on the 40600 but the sat displayed was greyed out manage to resolve this with the help of the forum.
Anyway had to reinstal Tomtom 5 along with v5.1 & much to my surprise everything works fine on v5.1 update.
So is there a way of getting around this problem? |

Not quite sure what you are saying about the grey bars. Do you mean that the bars are just grey and will not turn blue to show a lock, or they are not showing at all ?
I do have a GPS firmware driver that helps the Medion get a better lock than the original firmware, but it must be your choice if you use it.
Download the firmware Here
Have you got the correct settings for the gps,
Other Cable NMEA GPS
GPS Baud rate - set to 4800
Serial Cable on SP2 |

Hi thanks for the reply. Yes the display does not show lock or the bottom r/h display on navigation screen does not function. Everything was fine before v5.1 upgrade so it seems it is driver issue with update. Yes the settings for cable & baud rate are correct, they are the only one that will work. There must be other users with Mitac 168 etc that have the same problem with v 5.1. The update is a backward step for Mitac 168 & clone users. It takes longer to get sat lock as well.
As I have said the revers has happend with the update when used on the older 40600 Medion . :D It actually works correctly
Anybody care to comment? Are there any Mitac 168 users that the update has worked for? |

Yes, me. Works fine on both the Medion 95000 and my Mio168, never gave it a thought, just installed and away I went. |
