Hello folks
Recently bought iCN510 in UK, I changed to a 512MB SD card to install maps for France and Spain. After installing all UK maps plus the France and Spain maps I found that my iCN510 will not boot, I can still write to the SD card using ST application, but the unit OS seems to be corrupted? Anyone else out there with same problem? Help will be greatly appreciated. Also the original navman MMC card doesn't work!!
It hangs when the NAVman screen appears, it never get past this, just like when your PC can't get past the "welcome screen"
Thanks, Mike, Lincoln

Try resetting the unit.

Either press and hold the Home button and select yes from the pop-up menu, if the 510 will let you.

or

use the stylus to depress the reset button located on the top left.

Hi everybody. Noobie here.

I have the same problem, an ICN510 that won't boot beyond the pretty splash screen.

Bought for Mum at Christmas, it's rarely used but worked OK until yesterday when the touch screen refused to work, and it never gave any voice instructions. Using the mechanical buttons worked to some extent but it froze (like a computer crash) whenever it had to reroute.

I've brought it home, and thought a firmware update might help. Googled for a while, and there was an update from February, installed it seemingly correctly, but now the Navman won't boot at all.
The failure to boot is stopping me from trying anything else.

Googled again for a Navman forum and here I am.
Please can you guys advise me, or maybe point me towards a technical forum if I'm in the wrong place.

Thank you,
Jon

You may find the help you need here but, just in case, Navman Tech Support is here.

Thanks Tim.

I suppose predictably, the Navman support site doesn't say much about "If it won't boot, do this........"

Is it possible to install the original (non-updated) software direct from the original CDs onto the SD card? I have a card reader. It might not fix the problem, but might at least let the unit boot up.

The software installs to the unit, not the memory card. Have you tried reinstalling the original software from the CD onto the unit via the Navman Desktop?

You can email Navman support at support@navman.com

Mmmmmmm. I can't upload anything to the unit because it won't boot up.
I'm just looking at a pretty picture of a car on a road Sad

I'll try the email approach, but generally find forums more use than the companies for this sort of thing. I was hoping there's a common reason for failure to boot, or some known means of overcoming it.

I can't do much with the unit at all unless it boots.

So if you connect it to your PC first and then turn it on, doesn't it connect via Activesync?
