|
|
Hi
After a lot of prevaricating, finally made my decision and taken an o2XDA Mini S (free upgrade) to run my TT Navigator 5.
As advised I have downloaded TT Navigator 5.21 from the Tom Tom web site. No problem there. It did not at any stage ask me for product code or licence key - so I was thinking that anyone could download the soft ware ?
Went through the initial set up on the XDA and then got my box of original TT discs to load the maps, and guess what, all I get is a scrren saying
'Tom Tom Set up application
Tom Tom set up allication has encountered a problem....'
What do I do now!??!
TT is showing on the screen of the PDA as installed, but obviously no maps so it won't open the program.
Any help more than gladly received!
Thx

Try installing from your original CD's before you install the update. |

Mark, the downloaded application is a full version in its own right, it does not require the earlier versions installed before loading.
Insert CD one, once it auto runs select "Add Maps"
Select "Great Britain - CD1"
Either "GB Plus or GB (the plus map contains major roads of Europe in addition to street level maps of the UK), and don't forget to check the box for GB Postcodes on this page.
Choose "other location" (Advanced)
Storage Card Reader (CF/MMC/SD)
Select the drive letter of your memory card located in the card reader, the map should then copy to the card, when complete insert the card to the phone and go through the activation process.
Also have a read through http://www.tomtom.com/support/category.php?ID=3&Language=1&FID=3239 this is well known problem encountered durring the install - Mike |

Mike thanks again for your prompt reply.
I do not have a card reader, the card is inserted into the XDA which is on active synch.
Does that make any difference? Don't think it should. |

For the £10 or £15 they cost I would go and get one, transfering large amounts of data (GB-Plus map circa 200MB) takes ages via active sync, the card reader is just so much faster - Mike |

OK, heres the update, if you are interested!
Could not get a reader for mini sd cards. So have transferred maps from old Ipaq via active synch onto pc desktop. Then copied onto XDA via active synch. Have managed to activate maps, and am now waiting for BT gps to arrive. Should then be up and running. |
