Ok, so I have a friend ( no it is a friend before you jump on that wagon) who some time back purchased a TTgo 500 I think it is, and it came with a v4.40 or such GB map, he then went abroad and purchased what I think is the latest maps on cd set. He then tried to install the GB plus map and whilst trying to activate it he cannot find his device code on their website, it keeps throwing up that his software is the europe maps I think he said, and the device codes he gets when inputting his product code do not throw up his.
Any ideas what he needs to do. |

The 500 would have come with V5xx maps.
The Device Code is the Code Number for the 500, and it will display this when you need to activate a Map. This is 10 digits in 2 groups of 5. You can this information by tapping the Sat Bargraph and then the tapping the Version No., to bring up an information Screen.
The Maps come with a Product Code. This is 15 digit in 3 groups of 5.
To Activate a Map you need to go to www.ttcode.com and Input the Device Code and the Product Code when asked. This will then issue a 15 digit Activation Code that is unique to the 500 and the new Map. _________________ Richard

No this came with V390 sorry, or so he says when he looked at the version info.
He got the maps on cd whilst on holiday with his wife from sweden, got home and tried to install them, then went to activate them at the site you specify, however this is where his problem began, the product code he gave the site did NOT throw up his device code, and says his maps are europe something or other and so he now has a set of discs he can not use the maps from.
I tried to install and activate them for him earlier today and gave up trying, so I said I would ask in here for ideas.
I like my nokia mobile, lot less hassle. |

The First step asks for your Product Code. If this Product Code has been used on another Device, this might be where you are having problems.
The Second step asks for your Device Code.
The Third produces the Activation Code that you are looking for.
If it says words to the effect that this Product is locked to a Device already, it would suggest that the Maps are not kosher. In which case he has a problem. One I can't help with. _________________ Richard
