Volume is much better than the 510/510. The speaker is on the back, not the front, but I suspect it is much bigger.
It announces some road numbers, but not all.
Not sure what you mean; can you elaborate?
I'm in the process of writing a review of the 530 but it isn't ready yet, I'm afraid. _________________ Tim |

Yes you can. Route information, Instruction list will get you the full list, albeit with four instructions per page against TomTom's six. _________________ Tim |

After moving up from a Garmin I3, I love this little beauty. I took it to Tenerife with me and it had all roads, even small lanes between hotels and had the one way system in place in Playa Las Americas too. Easy to use and follow. Only down side for me is that I find the volume too low where I have it in the car. If I need to listen closely to the instructions then the CD player goes off. Decided to follow its advice on Thursday when it suggested I take an out of the way route over "moor" like country (I would normally stick to major, known routes) and it saved me 15 minutes on the trip.
All in all, for me a little gem which is accurate, easy to use and comes with ALL of Europe in the price. |

Thanks for that.Seems it has all the features Im looking for but Im still unsure about the sound/volume levels. My primary use for this is to be used in a truck so need good volume.I have had Navman 635 before and the sound was very good but still unsure of this one.
Will have to try and get a go on one
cheers

Two weeks ago I bought the new Navman ICN530 and have just
completed a week's holiday where I drove 890 miles using the
Navman.
On the down side there were a couple of roundabouts that
were not on the maps and the POI's (Points Of Interest) are
not altogether accurate. The dedicated fuel and parking
buttons I found were not much help.
On the Up side I have to say that it is a very good piece of
equipment. Satellite fix takes between 30 seconds and two
minutes. Vocal instructions are clear and the screen is easy
to see. The seven digit postcode facility is spot on for
accuracy and the bonus over Tom Tom is that the unit is so
slim it just slots in your pocket. I looked at Tom Tom and
feel that Navman was the right decision. |

In what way? They didn't find any fuel/parking nearby or just inaccurate data? I thought those buttons looked quite handy myself. |

Whats the display like - does it scroll smoothly in 3d mode - read about it only updating once a second.
Also how does this compare to a tomtom go unit as on price it's more ONE but with full euro maps.... is comparable to a 710. Really like the idea of the traffic add on as well. Very tempted by the pipeline offer at the minute but insure whether to jump...
I've only ever used tomtom and viamichelin on a pda and think I'd like at unit dedicated to swop between cars... _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

I got my 530 yesterday and have used it on 4 journeys. Very good unit and it even found a shortcut to work that both TomTom 3 or 5 never found. Only downside I have found is with audible alerts on POI's. The unit only has 1 sound for alerts which is very quiet. I have emailed Navman on this and hope they will improve it in a new software update. The voice instructions are loud enough even mid volume and the maps are nice and clear. Adding safety camera alerts was a little time consuming compared to TomTom but not really that much of a problem and easy to do through the PC software.
As a once dedicated TomTom fan I have to say i'm converted and I can't wait for the Traffic T1 TMC addon at the end of June. At just over £200 for the unit and £129 for the TMC its a bargain compared to the TomTom 510/710. |

:D Being a LGV driver i've found problems with ALL other units i've tried, (tom tom 300,destinator nd,via michelin) but this unit is a real gem. Had it for a week and aint had a single problem. Ok it's not the loudest unit but it's ok in my scania. It has head phone socket so if you need to you can conect an external speaker! I would recomend this to any larger vehicle drivers. Can't wait for T1 TMC module! |

I like the entire western europe maps in one package! Very handy. I've got it all on a 1GB memory card with 6KB free! Ok i've had to cut some of the maps to just roads but areas i use most are fully detailed. Fantastic product for truckers/coach drivers! Also like the way it doen't put the maps onto your PC and fill your hard drive, as i only have 40gb thats a big plus! via michelin/destinator you listening!
You can add upto 25 POI files, not alot but i have all my firms customers, low bridges, speed cams! |

On the subject of road numbers, does in announce A roads from roundabouts and major junctions or is it just random roads that happen to be in the database.
Also is there a colour editor for the map (PC based maybe?), I find the border it puts around street names looks really ugly!
How well does it integrate wit te speed cams especially the speed zoned can we set different distances for different types of camera? |

I have the 530 and think that it's excellent.
However, when downloading the UK camera database, I can only find 99 locations under the POI section. Is this all that it can handle? |
