Voices

Hi

I have a Tomtom go 300. I have just been given some voices to add to the unit. I have copied the files into the voices directory on the unit but they are not visible when I switch the Tomtom on. I have carried out a search for the standard Tim and Jane voices and I cannot find them either. Are they embedded into some sort of library? Could anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Are the new voices zipped up in any way, the files you have for each voice should be dataXX.chk, dataXX.vif and dataXX.bmp (XX denotes a number between 01 and 99, the number must be the same for the three files) - there will be three files per voice.

In the case of the Jane and Tim voices they will be data05.chk and data06.chk.

You should find all these files in the voices folder, they must not reside in a sub directory of the voices folder - Mike

on the topic of voices...have they come up with any new ones. When I was using a 300, I really liked the Yoda one. I think a Gollum voice would be great. ("we'se turn left...just a little bit furthers")
