I have just received my Garmin Nuvi 350 which Global Positioning Systems had pre-loaded your UK speed camera database on. The problem is that I cannot seem to adjust any of the settings and it's warning me 0.5 miles ahead of a camera and all the way to the camera if I am doing over the camera speed limit (even for traffic lights!). Can someone please offer some advice on how I can modify the settings please!!!!

this guy (forum user) has made a programme that will allow you to set the distance/time for each speed and type of camera. i.e. you can set it so that for a gatso you get 10 seconds warning as opposed to the standard 30-40

Welcome to the Forum Ken,

What you are experiencing is the way the speed camera database is designed to operate. Drop your speed and the warning will clear.

For redlight camera the speed is set in most cases for 0 mph so will alarm as you approach no matter what speed you are going, there are also red light cameras at varying speeds from 10 MPH onwards.

Example :
-0.00752 51.76362 REDLIGHT:9209
-0.11673 51.59774 REDLIGHT:9210@30
-0.34687 51.38177 REDLIGHT:9215@40

The POILoader available for download on the Garmin site allows you to install the camera database and set up the camera types to suit your requirements (select manual).

Available also on the forum is details of some software that can manipulate the database further i have never tried it as i'm happy with the default POILoader settings.

Suggest you check out the forum as all you have asked and no doubt will ask as your knowledge of the hardware increases is available.
