Medion SD Slot not working?

Hi

My wife and I have a Medion MDPNA100 which was unfortunatly dropped onto a concrete floor. The SD card fell out and ever since, although it seats well into the slot, the unit has become rather unreliable, failing to read maps. In the File Explorer the Storage card disappears from view by touching the top of the card.

I assume that there is a poor contact somewhere, but is this a possible repair or are there any other ways of getting the mapping onto the unit?? Or is there something else I should be trying (including buying a new unit!)

If there is a physical problem then you might need a new unit. However I haven't dropped mine and I've had problems reading maps and other files off an SD card and the supplied MMC card. I spoke to Medion and they suggested that the data might be corrupted despite it being "seen" OK by a card reader attached to my PC. So I reloaded the maps and it now works fine. So the cheapest option is to try reloading the maps with a card reader attached to a PC.
