I wonder if anyone can answer the following basic queries.

I use a Fujitsu Siemens Pocket loox PDA and am considering purchasing the Bluetooth version of Tom Tom Nav 2.

The Bluetooth unit is rechargeable. I believe it comes with a car accessory (cigarette lighter) charger. Will it run while connected to the charger to prevent running out of power?

You review suggested that it comes with a second power cable that can connect to a second socket on the accessory charger to power the PDA (well, the pre-production one did anyway). Is the output of this compatible with the Loox (this takes a 5v DC feed)?

Iam concerned that the audio output of the Loox will be too low for the voice directions to be audible above the road noise. Can any Loox / Tom Tom owners reassure me on this? Or is there a way of having the audio boosted via the cars stereo perhaps via a bluetooth version of those MP3 playing 'cassettes' if they exist. Alternatively is there a amplifier for PDAs, perhaps built into a holder or a bluetooth hands free amplifier (as might be used with mobile phones?)

How vital is line of sight to the sky for the GPS sensor. I have already read in this excellent forum that reception conditions vary and the nature of the windscreen can have an effect (my car is a 2 year old Merc) But, especially if I need to connect the charger at times, it would be neat if I didn't have to mount the sensor at the base of the windscreen, which is awkward to reach, or on the rear parcel shelf which is away from the power.

Can anyone advise how one keeps one's maps up to date. How is this acheived technically and how does one pay?

Does anyone have a neat solution to mounting a PDA in a C class Merc, ideally just above the ashtray, without drilling holes?

Thanks to anyone who can assist with these queries.

Thumbs Up
