Don't worry, it can be a bit mind boggling for a beginner, but it's actually very easy, once you've got the idea.

First thing to do is BACK UP WHAT YOU'VE GOT NOW! Then if you mess anything up, it is easy to go back to where you were. There are instructions somewhere in the forums (try a search) but basically you connect up the Go to the PC and simply copy and paste EVERYTHING from the tomtom into a safe place on the PC's hard drive.

Next, get it right in your head that the cameras database ISN'T "software" so you aren't doing anything scarey. All it is is a list of positions on the map, just like the inbuilt ones for banks, railway stations etc (well better, really, because the inbuilt ones can be pretty useless at times!)

The only problem with a Go300 (which is what I've got too) is that the memory card supplied with it has very little space free. If all you want to do is add the camera database, you should be OK if you use the preferences menu to delete a couple of the foreign languages before you start, just to make a bit more room. But if you want to update the software version later or add any other goodies, you will want to buy a bigger card. Again there are loads of instructions scattered around the forums for when you want to do that.

For now, look in the boxes to the left of this screen and you should find a general camera help guide and specific instructions to install on the Go range.

Come back if you have any problems. Smile

One more thing - the camera database is not free - you have to be a subscriber to get it - £2 per month or £19 per year.
