Hi,
Hope this might help someone who suffers a similar fate.
I had 6.010 without any operating issues.
After reading here that 6.030 was available for Palm, I ran up TomTom Home for macintosh (V1.5.032). Sure enough, a software update was waiting. Trying to be good, I allowed Home to try backing up my SD card before installing - the application crashed. Not to worry, I already have backups of everything via another process, so I re-ran Home, and declined the backup.
Install went fine (apparently). However, 6.030 wouldn't run, reporting 'Armcode not allocated error' and 'ARM Load error'. Soft resets etc did nothing.
I then read elsewhere some advice regarding looking for and deleting files from the card with corrupted file names. I checked and had none. However, I did note that on the card were the following:
SD Volume/PALM/Palm/TomTom
within which were data.chk and Munich.bin.
According to my backup of 6.010, these should have been here:
SD Volume/TomTom
So I moved the two files... hey presto, I am now running 6.030, appears to be fine.
Hope nobody else has this experience, but if so, hopefully this helps.
I have one sneaking suspicion: Install will look for a TomTom directory at the deepest level. I suspect that by not deleting the incorrectly placed directory, a future update may be problematic. I'll leave it there and let everyone know if my suspicion is correct. _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek!

Actually folks, a quick request:
If you've a palm, would you mind posting the file content of the
SD volume/TomTom directory? I've just thought that I've not seen a TomTom splash screen since my first update to V6(.010) and wonder what else might be missing!
Many thanks in anticipation. _________________ iPhone 4/4S (iOS 5.1.1); TomTom Western Europe (1.10)/USA & Canada (1.10); CoPilot for iPhone (8), UK mapping, Mac OS 10.8/XP Pro/Win7; Tongue firmly in cheek!
