Have successfully used TT5 on my PDA for a long time and have been a member here for a while.
Bought my wife a TT 700 for £300 in Curries to go with the nice new Honda Jazz she has just bought. Got the last one in the shop (TT not Jazz). Yes I says - I know all about these - I will put on the cameras, the new voices and the new warning voices for you.
Ooops - don't know as much as I thought I did
I have plugged the TT into wife's laptop using USB cable, switched on and the TT seems to know its plugged into a computer when I switch it on - it just shows a picture of itself (even more big headed than me) with the USB cable plugged in. But when I go into windows explorer I can't find it - no mention at all of "mass storage device" or new drive letter - nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? Or has anybody else had this problem. Is the TT what is known as bu**ered? Is it back to Curries tomorrow for an argument?
Help please .......... _________________ Peter

Try a harder push of the USB cable into the back of the GO. For the first few attempts it needs to click into place. I had the same problem as you seem to have. But it seems that the GO will think it's connected if some of the pins contact but the computer needs the other pins!!
After a few goes the connector becomes less tight. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Thanks for the reply
I think you are right - because after I posted I tried again and ... magic ... it worked! Will try again in a minute to see if it was just luck

Don't be embarrassed. Several of us have had the problem. I think that TomTom have low manufacturing tolerances, and could do better.
I wonder how many people have returned "good" machines to the supplier with a non-connection fault? Must have cost TT a lot. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
