Sad
Hi,
Just received my new TTNV2 software and tried install on HP Jornada 565 with 256mb SANDISK CF card. Software installed OK and proceeded to install maps. Whether I try full UK 96Mb install or minimum 16mb partial install, just before the install finishes it stops with the "Disk access problem error"
Looking via windows explorer on the PDA its installing something. The GB maps install cline, cname, cnode, faces, mapinfo and poi to the CF card, but if I try to run TTNV2 I just get the message "cannot determine location of data please reinstall data and or application)
Its tryig to install TTNV2 v 2.24 with GPS 2.06. Ant suggestions please?
TIA

Sounds like a problem with the CF Card.

First I'd try formatting it in a card reader on your PC. If that's not an option then there are PocketPC utils that will check a memory card for errors and format them, http://www.softwinter.com has storage tools which is one example.

I also had the same issue with my Toshiba e750 and TomTom, trying to copy the maps to an SD card

For me the problem seemed to be that ActiveSync kept dying at seemingly random intervals - and I kept getting that message.

I eventually overcame the problem by copying the map files to a folder on my PC and moving them to the SD card one at a time, rather than use the wizard, so if/when it did glitch I didnt have to try to shove 90+mb of data across to the Tosh again, just the uncopied or corrupt files.

Just on the subject of ActiveSync dying, it's apparently a recognised problem. I have an e740 and the latest ROM update seems to have cured it.

Thanks guys,

I removed the CF card and cleared it using a USB reader from my PC. I then ran a scandisk/fix on it and reinstalled and everything was OK.
