Hi All,
My BT-77, which seemed to do the job pretty well, has recently packed in.....everything seems normal, even connects to the pda, but never picks up a single sat no matter how long I leave it. Tried taking the battery out for a few mins so it could chill out for a bit! Any ideas welcome!
Assuming it's probably knacked, I'll get a Sirf 3 unit next. Am I right in thinking that the top choices are between the Holex 236, Globalsat BT-338, and the Tomtom one. Are there any big reasons why I should go for one over another? I've heard about the hard/software on/off thing. Anything else?
What's the best place to buy them?.....ebay?....clove.co.uk seemed to have a decent price on the Holux.......???
Thanks. |

it's hard/soft power button, and replaceable battery (and run time). The rest is irrelevant. _________________ Lutz

Thanks Lutz,
What about revision levels (firmware?)? Seems to be a lot of talk about that.
Am I right in thinking that the Globalsat & Holux have replaceable batteries?
Thanks again...... |

Thanks, but it seems that the Apos 626 isn't easily available in the UK. Couldn't find one anywhere on E-Bay. Any ideas. Maybe a US supplier would ship it over?
What does it normally cost?
Any other Sirf 3 units out there? |
