I've successfully paired my Nokia 6680 with my TomTom 300.
Its really a query regarding how I get charged.
I'm on an Orange Contract and get a 4Mb data monthly allowance which I rarely use much of.
Now if my phone is on and phone's bluetooth is activated and I go to TomTom weather and for example check out the weather for a desination I'm going to - does it just go and get the data and then close the connection until I request another weather report / or traffic report?

I notice that I don't already have to be online from the Orange newtork to get connected to tomtom server.

Basically does it only go and get data when asked to - and thus that data that gets transmitted comes of my data allowance from my Orange contract?

Thanks

Feronni

You are charged for the volume of data that you download, not the time that you are connected. If you are connected all day, and only do one short download, that's all you pay for.

If you are going to use the Traffic Service, make sure that you set an sensible update period. I spend about 12 hours a week on the road, and with my update set to 15 minutes, I was using 16Mb per month. I've now stopped, as it was getting far too expensive, and didn't give me any more information than using traffic info on my radio.
