Cleaning up old MY POIs on Navman iCN510

I have just downloaded the latest version of speedcam POIs for my device using the download site option which were asc files not the usual csv (UK Consolidated by type). Because I have previously installed over the old files and/or sometimes used a different description (ie UKGATSO or just GATSO etc), I decided to delete all the old files by using the Desktop facility.
All the new files appeared to upload correctly, however in looking at My POI files on the device they are still described by their former names. I have also been for a short drive looking at local cams to ensure they are all there but the warning still comes up with the previous description.
I cannot find a way of deleting all the uploaded MY POIs from my device other than by using the Desktop.
Is there a way
Could the difference in file types (asc instead of csv) have any effect
I'm sure I can resolve the issue but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it...
