Need help on Garmin i3 trip to France

Hi, I am off to France in July and want to take my i3 unit. I need to know how I go about transferring data (just bought a CD rom off eBay Garmin mapsource France) onto the i3. Will it complement data already on the unit or will it over-write the UK data ? Do I need to buy a seperate data card ? Help !!!!!

You will need another card for the sheer volume of data, apart from the possible risk of screwing up your existing card. Mapsource can be activated to enable data transfer to an i3, but the Garmin web site says that you should not do so!

Many thanks for that. I had reservations about trying to copy it onto the existing card so my suspicions are confirmed. Appreciate your help.
