Will have to put my hand up and say I have not tried this since I have received my new V8 maps.
But on the old V7 on either Fastest or shortest routes from Milton Keynes to Nr Caerphilly in S.Wales it always wants to take me accross the severn bridge even if I select avoid toll roads.

Is is only on my system, is this a bug, or is this fixed on the V8 maps?

Thanks

Welsh

it may be worth dropping a line to navteq informing them that it is a toll road - might get added to their data-set one day...

I don't think this feature is an error.

If you read about 'avoidance' options (p.18 of downloadable Owners Manual) it seems to say it will obey chosen option UNLESS it will take you too far out of your way or if no other roads are available.

That would be fair enough, but I know I can (and Do) make the journey in roughly as many miles within 10-15 minutes.
I tested today on the V8 maps and on Sortest Distance I will take me the way I want to go (avoiding the toll) but still on fastest it want to take me accross that dam bridge,

So has anyone else has issues with this, especially with regards to the severn bridge?

NAVTEQ have had the Severn Bridge in as a toll ever since they first had data for that area. It is the routing algorithm (Garmin) that affects this.
