Hi, I have tried to get TomTom v5 to work on Palm T5, but I never get it stable enough.
It Freeze or hang all the time. I wonder if anyone can help me, and im really intressted if you have a Palm t5 and itīs work for you.
My Palm T5.
- I have 0,4mb free memory when I have loaded TomTom5.
- I use a viking 1gb card. (slow i guess) purchase it 05-05-20)
- I have tried to have the program, on the internal memory, and maps on SD, I have even tried to have the program and maps on the SD card.
- I have done a hard reset and have only TomTom installed.
- I have tried 5.00 and 5.12.
Question.
1. What memeorycard are you using?
2. What TomTom version?
3. How much memory do you have left when you started TomTom5?
Very greatful for all help I can get, TomTom is now help....

One likely cause is the T5's small dynamic heap, and the apparently more intensive heap requirements of 5.201.
Some users report that rolling back to 5.12 reduces the dynamic heap usage and solves much of the instability and 'insufficient memory' type issues we are all too familiar with.
But you say you've tried this already...?
Have you tried hard reset & install nothing but Tomtom? This will prove if it is a software conflict problem (but make sure you take a good backup before you reset).
There might also be issues with the NVFS memory in the T5. There are software apps that do things that may or may not help...you might want to research uncache and UDMH for example (I don't know if these will help at all, or even if they are compatible).
Did you do the T5 1.1 upgrade? This solved alot of instability issues on the original launch model. |

Thanks eillo7 for that answer.
I have tried a hard reset and only installed TomTom, same problem.
Yes I think I use T5 v1.1, how can I se that?
But you donīt think that i can be the SD memory, that cause this?
Why did not Palm installed more memory, or TomTom took a a lite bit less memory. |

The ways of TomTom or Palm are beyond our lowly ken, it seems. :-)
Which version of the maps are you using on the Palm? Plus-version or standard region map?
Also, try disabling your POI's. You can keep the warnings, but don't display them on the main Navigator screen. |
