Problems with BT-338 and O2 XDA Atom

I have just purchased an O2xda Atom and a Globalsat BT-338 and am having a lot of trouble trying to get the to to find eachother in Destinator PN.

In bluetooth settings they pair with each other, but when i open up Destinator, it just says 'GPS not found'. my gps receiver is in perfect view of a satellite, so I have no idea. I have been playing around with the com port settings and it seems every possible combination has been tried and still nothing.

There is a section in windows settings called GPS in the atom, which isn't in the imate jam which i believe controls the gps software and has com port settings in there. Is this required to get GPS to work?

I am lost as to what to do and think i have lost a lot of money on purchasing these two devices. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S i have updated my ROM in the O2 already.

pairing is not sufficient. you also need to create a new outgoing com port, and then indicate that port in Destinator.
