Good mounting solution, but why would you want to damage a dashboard by drilling holes? I just thought I might pass along this information as it may be usefull.



ProClip has a mounting solution for every car make and provides a high quality mount with no holes to be drilled. Just simply snap into place, add your cell phone or PDA holder which is availible with tilt/swivel and your done. Check this one out. FYI

I had a look at the ProClip and it looks veyr similar to the Arkon Vent mount fixture which I have. The Arkon worked extreemly well in my car (Chrysler Voyager) and my son's car (Ford Escort) but did not fit my Father's (Ford Mondeo). I currently use a modified Dashmount fitting with the Arkon PDA holder. This is the most solid and reliable solution I have found (so far).



I have just started using a Ram Mount on my Mountain bike and may be changing my view on the ultimate mount soon.

Like the idea of piping the sound through the car stereo but I am unsure of the connections. I wouldnt expect a pocket PC to have the output required to be able to power full size car speakers. If you have no auxilary input, how can you get the sound out of the stereo?

I was very interested in your article on how you fitted your GPS system.

One thing though, can you run by me again how you connected the audio output of the Pocket PC to you car's radio?

You say you connected it to the radio's output speaker leads. Is there enough signal strength output from the Pocket PC to do this? Or has your radio got an audio in-jack?

I like the idea of using the radio to make the GPS instructions clearer, but I'm not clear how to achieve this.
