You should have a Folder in the Root of the SD Card called Zip. This contains the Great_Britain.Postal File that contains the Postcodes.
Is there a possibility you have deleted the Folder?
Do you have a previous Full Backup of the 300? This would have the Zip Folder.
I don't know if the new download contains the Postcode File, as I have never bothered to Upgrade that way. _________________ Richard

say for exmaple i tapped in the first part of an address say rg1 for reading
then i could only tap in the road, and not the rest of the post code
which is not a very good solution as there could be more than one road called the same thing, but in a different sub zone of for example rg1 |

You don't have to activate the Postcode File.
You are sure the Folder is in the Root of the SD Card? Try a reset to force TT to re-read the SD Card, and see if that helps. _________________ Richard

the file is sitting in a folder called zip
this folder is sitting on the tomtom next to the other folder called
great_britian_plus
licenses
when you say root,
is there a folder called root then
as at the moment it seems to be just amongst a collection of files and folders |

Hi worthingsaxovtr
What size is your postcode folder, I have the TomTom One & mine shows 13.0mb, just wondered if maybe yours was possibly corrupt? _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

That sounds right.
The Root is the level at which you can see the Drive letter, TomTom (E, in Explorer.
Have you tried a Reset? _________________ Richard
