hi - i'm new to sat nav, so i'm hoping someone can help. i've just purchased a streetpilot i3 and used it to get home - all well so far - but when i got home i thought i would update the software, so i did, however now the problem is i seem to have lost the maps and i can't see on the garmin site how to get them back or if i can download a replacement.

hope someone can help.

thanks in advance

Updating the i3's firmware using WebUpdater app should not affect the maps at all...these are held on the SDMedia memory card slotted into the rhs of the unit - are you sure that this is plugged in properly? (remove then replug with power off...)

What makes you think you've lost your maps? The 'load maps' error message on the i3 at start-up is usually caused by dirty contacts on the aforementioned SDMedia memory card - these can best be cleaned using a normal pencil eraser (again, ensuring power off when removing or reinserting media...)
