hi
i'm totally new to this and know next to nothing. can anyone advise:
- will the speed camera databse load on to any car gps unit or only particular brands?
- any suggestions for a system - i need someting for uk only preferrable with traffic info but not on subscription basis? any ideas, i'd perfer a better quaility one?

At the moment none of the manufacturer's in-built sat nav systems can use the camera database. May change in future, who knows?

Most (but not all) of the seperate systems (either all in one or PDA based) you can buy will accept custom POIs, and therefore the camera database.

Traffic info can be obtained on those manufacturer's systems that support TMC - that info is sent via radio, but I have heard reports that is is not very good (chocolate fireguard?). Otherwise sat nav manufacturers such as Tom Tom have a system, but you need to subscribe to that.

thanks for the advise i'll bear this in mind and start shopping! i've read a number of new systems are out in April\May so i'll see what they have.
