I just moved to a new area in Florida. I bought this unit to be able to find things around me while I am on the road. I would like to know if there is a way to use this unit to search for something by name that I cannot find in a POI category. Lets say I am looking for the nearest Home Depot, how would I do this? I might be over looking something but have not been able to find it.
I returned a Garmin C330 for this GO 300 due to lack of features on the Garmin, but the Garmin I could search for stores by name. Help would be appreciated. |

As far as I can see, you have to be searching within a category. In the case of Home Depot, it's within the 'Shop' category.
Tap on the keyboard at the bottom of the screen to enter letters.
You can also create your own POIs at this site and then transfer them to your TTG:

I dont have a shop category. Only Shopping Center. So I cant find places individually by name... I dont kno if I like that. |

In the US, Home Depot is in the "Store" category.
