Does Traffic actually work?

Does it update itself quick enough to be of any use etc.? Or, like the electronic signs on the motorway, is it often incorrect and behind real-life and often not much help?

Let me answer with a german joke (old and worn) "Wie ist denn Deine Frau so im Bett?" "Die einen sagen so, die anderen sagen so..."

Basically you have a mix of both. Traffic can always only be as good as the whole chain of information before the message hits your screen or the motorway signs.

We are not yet at a point where a ad-hoc network is formed between all drivers and incidents (and generally traffic speed in front of you) get reported through that network. But that's where this all is heading.
