|

I have an i3. I use VirtualPC (Windows XP SP2) on my Macintosh. All the Windows software I own (Office, Publisher, FrontPage etc.) run fine in this emulated environment.
I have installed the drivers from the supplied CD and have downloaded the POI Loader (along with a set of POI's from another site) within VirtualPC. The problem is that on launching POI Loader it doesn't automatically recognise my i3. What is more, when the program is asked to find the connected i3 it reports back that no connected device was found.
I've tried the same process on someone's borrowed laptop (PC) and it all works as expected.
Can anyone shed light on why POI Loader doesn't work properly within my Windows emulated environment (when all my other Windows programs do work properly) compared to using a native Windows PC? |

i assume that it is a fully functional windows OS? if so then right click 'my computer' and hit properties. have a look under device manager to see if the garmin shows up in that. this will tell you if the drivers have installed correctly. it comes under 'garmin GPS' or similar...

Yep, as expected, the device properties (in My Computer) correctly shows 'Garmin Devices' and within that 'Garmin USB GPS' - so I dont' understand what the problem is (!). |
