New Map

Hello
I had my TT1 now for a while, when I first opened it all up, it never asked for the activiation code for the GB map- it justr worked!

I just bought the western europe map from tom tom and again it just works - when and why/how will I need to use that plastic card with the serial numbers on it?

hi

you will probably need it when doing map updates

and you will definatly need it if your tomtom breaks and you replace it with a new one

whatever you do DONT loose the card as it will cost you the price of the new maps to replace it

if you are ever asked for an activation code by the tomtom then goto www.ttcode.com and follow the instructions

ps make sure you make a backup copy of the sd card

The activation code won't change unless you change the map. You could get it now and write it down somewhere.

is it therefore possible to install the same map on 2 devices assuming that one had a blank sd card to copy the data on to?

but I have never used any activations..?
When and at what point will it ask me do you think?
Is it random or just when I update the map, after buying the map how long do I get updates for anyway?
