Hi from a newbie
I have used the search function on here but can't find a discussion on the location of TFL's lovely box junction cameras. I know they are secret but I would really like add to a database of these POI's.
Warwick Rd and Earl's Court Square is my fave
thanks |

Has anyone else been pinged by box-junction cameras?
I got a nice photo through the post the other day with me in my car in a box junction. It is one of those ones that if you don't enter, you will never get moving again so is surely just a revenue earner for the council.
And what an earner! £100 fine, reduced to £50 if I cough up in 14 days. Daylight robbery by the London Borough of Ealing!
What I would like to know is why is it that "safety" cameras have to be painted dayglo and have warning signs yet this beastie that caught me is on the top of a very tall lampost and you have no idea that it is there? _________________ - - - - - - - - -

Just because you have the chance to halve your fine, there's no need to tell us about it twice. :D I've deleted your other post since it was a duplicate of the one here, and it had no replies. _________________ Tim |

I must admit that this is designed to improve traffic, not slow it up. I agree that for many years London motorists have "got away" with this.
Teh law changed about 3 months ago to include box junctions (on top of bus lane) cameras that can be used for revenue collection.
I live in the London Borugh of Ealing and in next years Council budget it actually states that they wish to collect £1.3m in transport related fines. Thsi includes Parking as well, but thsi is actually now a target, without it each household in Ealing will be charged another £5.00 the year after.... _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

As you live in the London Borough of Ealing, you may be familiar with the junction of Southall Broadway and Herbert Road. A little box junction just outside Burtons.
Just beyond that junction is a pedestrian crossing. Often the traffic is flowing nicely then comes to a screeching halt stranding you in the junction. Other times (this being Southall after all) the normal niceties of the Road Traffic Act are abandoned as someone decides to pull a 5-point turn in the middle of the road, again stranding someone in the junction who fully believed that they would not block it. And yet again, at certain times of the day, if you leave that junction free you will never move due to the levels of traffic pulling out of it as well as those turning right into it in front of you.
Of all the junctions to pick, they pick this one. I imagine that is purely for revenue purposes. A mere 100 yards further East is the junction with South Road. That is in far greater need of enforcement due to the fact that this often snarles up the whole area yet not a single camera anywhere near that junction. _________________ - - - - - - - - -
