I have Tom Tom Go 300.... new firmware and speed camera data loaded.

I was travelling along the A8 Glasgow Road, Ratho Station in Edinburgh in me company van.... when satnav says approaching mobile camera 50mph..
So I slowed down from 90, lets say,Wink to 50mph...to pass the camera .....anyways

I recieved a letter from the Censored So I asked for the calibration report and photo...and they sent it to me ...yup sure enuff its me van..doesnt show me tho....

Soooooooo.......if any of you are near this area change this to 40 MPH!!!!!!

....even tried to fight it.....still watin... Sad
Any suggestions let me know.

Peace.

If I understand you correctly, this is in fact a 40mph limit? Can you supply the camera ID and we'll ensure this is ammended.

read the road signs.
Anything other than a 30 limit will have the speed posted.

and the 40 MPH limit sign Exclamation

I haven't loaded the January update yet, but the mobile between the Airport & M8 (Newbridge?) Roundabout (MOBILE:0585@40) on Glasgow Road is 40MPH in the December database. The fixed cameras "under" the roundabout are 50MPH Exclamation

Could someone check the current database? If MOBILE:0585@40 has been changed to 50MPH it needs to be changed back!! (I passed this tonight and the road speed limit is definitely 40MPH!)

New this month: This release has been prepared from the new speed camera database system and all of the camera IDs are now unique across all camera types. As a consequence all of the camera identification numbers have changed.

This mobile camera site on Glasgow Road near Ratho Station, now named MOBILE:6210@40 in the February database release is clearly correctly identified now.

The idea of POI warnings is just that...a WARNING. It is not a 'GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD' You should still be watching where you are going and what's going on around you. If you were using your TT on a quayside and missed the sign warning you of that, would you drive into the water ?

That camera has always been a 40 on my GPS everytime I have gone past. There is a good chance that if your range is too high it may have picked up the 50 Gatso on the motorway (either the two under the bridge or the one on the south bound exit)

I only find the limits to be usefull in letting you know if a mobile or gatso is actually on the road I am on - for instance if it says 40 and I am on the M6 I know there is a good chance that its not for me.

Not going to preach that you shouldn't speed - thats just a waste of space. But you should be more aware of the limit for the road you are traveling on so you can tell if the camera is likelyu to be ahead or not (still not foolproof tho!!) Wonder if the subscription database will be more accurate and trustworthy....

Give us a break with the speeding lectures - the guy was joking when he said 90. Everyone speeds, that's why we need the scamera database. Rolling Eyes
