to download or not to download?

sorry for the very basic stupid questions (it does state beginners forum!!) but i have a ipaq rz1710 with tomtom navigator 5 on. i would like my unit to be all singing all dancing and download speed camera , funny voices & pictures etc... i am a little worried that doing all this will slow down the performance of my unit. at the end of the day it is only here to get me from a 2 b is it the size of the processor i should be worried about or the size of the s d card? can processors be changed.
all help appreciated.
p s anyone know of a home voice download?
