TomTom Navigator 5 & Go Maps Compatibility

Hi
I have previously bought maps for the USA for my TomTom Nav 5 (for my PDA). I recently purchased the TomTom Go 700. I was wondering if the maps were compatible- I was wondering if I could load the USA maps into the TomTom Go 700 and could use that instead of my PDA? Also just out of curiousity I was wondering if I could load the same maps for use in TomTom Mobile 5 (for smartphones)?

Technically you can do that - maps are device agnostic. However, on each new device you need to sacrifice an activation code. You can only activate on a new device every six months.

Legally you are only permitted to use the maps on one device at a time.
