TTN2 & street names

My brand new, lovely TT2 (on a 2210) is telling me the incorrect street name at the bottom of the 3d display.

it's telling me the NEXT street name that my journey takes me onto, not the current one! However, if I tap and go to the navigator menu, it tells me the correct current street.

anyone witnessed this before, and is there an option that i've missed somewhere?

That's how it's supposed to work. It only gives the name of the current street if you have guidance off, or if you're in the safety screen (speed above the threshold set in Properties - in which case the name of both the current and next street is shown).

I think the best summary of what has been lengthy discussions over this in the forums is to say that opinions differ. Like you, at first, I wanted the name of the street I was on. However, I eventually realised that the name of the next street is more useful - because if there's several turnings close together, you know which one you're looking for if you can see street names.


Probably the best answer would be if, in a future release, TomTom allowed you to choose whether you wanted the current street name or the next street name displayed.

problem was that my mrs was giving me funny looks for buying this "wonderful" software, then was convinced that it didn't even work properly.
